Police have taken action against 22 people in an operation targeting property offences in Wagga Wagga Local Area Command.

Operation Assure 2 was conducted between 21 September and 4 October 2016, NSW Police say.

During the operation police arrested 22 people, for offences such as stealing, possess prohibited article/weapon, and other street offences.

Officers also issued a youth caution for drug detection, and issued three warnings under the Young Offenders Act.

During the operation police conducted 74 person searches, 11 vehicle searches and 12 move-on directions were issued.

Police also took action for 13 traffic offences during the operation.

“We will continue to conduct these high visibility proactive operations into the future to protect the community from these offenders,” Inspector Telfer said.
