NSW police to prepare report for Coroner following drowning

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the apparent drowning death of a woman on the state's North Coast, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 2.00pm today, police and emergency services were called to Mullawarra Beach at Arrawarra, north of Coffs Harbour, following reports of a body in the water.

Two witnesses located the body of a 26-year-old woman face down in the water and brought her to shore, but she was pronounced deceased at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics.

Police were told that the woman had earlier told friends she was going for a swim.

Initial investigations suggest there were no suspicious circumstances involved.
