NT Planning Commission Welcomes New Chair And Members

NT Government

Today, I have appointed Mr Mark Coffey PSM as Chairperson of the Northern Territory Planning Commission.

Mr Coffey, who is based in Alice Springs, brings extensive experience to the role. He most recently served as Managing Director of a government consultancy company and has previously held senior leadership roles with NT Police, the Office of Northern Australia, and the Alice Springs Town Council.

He has a thorough understanding of government operations and a clear insight into how policy decisions can be translated into effective outcomes on the ground.

In addition to appointing Mr Coffey, I have appointed Mr Rod Applegate and reappointed Ms Dorte Ekelund as members of the NT Planning Commission.

I would like to thank Dr David Ritchie, who is stepping down after eight years as Chairperson, for his dedication to the NT Planning Commission and to the Northern Territory.

Dr Ritchie's commitment to the public service and to the NT community more broadly has been vital in ensuring planning processes are efficient, fair, and considerate of all stakeholders.

I look forward to working with Mr Coffey and the Commission members to ensure that planning in the Northern Territory is sustainable and aligned with the needs of the community.
