Numerous charged after drug supply investigation, NSW

Numerous people have been charged after an investigation the supply of methamphetamine in Oxley Local Area Command, NSW Police say.

In November 2015, detectives from Oxley LAC commenced Strike ORISON to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Gunnedah, Narrabri, and Tamworth areas.

On Thursday (5 January 2017) and Friday (6 January 2017), investigators arrested and charged numerous people in relation to the investigation, including:

- A 41-year-old man was charged with take part in supply of small quantity of prohibited drug (x2); supply prohibited drug between small and indictable quantity (x2). He was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today.

- A 47-year-old woman charged with supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis (x4); supply indictable quantity of prohibited drug (x2); supply small quantity of prohibited drug (x4); take part supply prohibited drug; supply prohibited drug between small and indictable quantity (x2); knowingly deal with proceeds crime. She was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today.

- A 21-year-old man was charged with take part in supply of prohibited drug, and conspiracy to supply prohibited drug. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Gunnedah Local Court on Tuesday 7 February 2017.

- An 18-year-old woman was charged with supply pistol to person unauthorised to possess it. She was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on Friday (6 January 2017), where she was granted conditional bail to attend Tamworth on Monday 16 January 2017.

- On Friday (6 February 2017), police arrested a 52-year-old and charged him with ongoing supply of prohibited drugs on ongoing basis; supply indictable quantity of prohibited drug; acquire firearm without licence or permit; supply firearm to person unauthorised to possess it; supply pistol to person unauthorised to possess; and custody of knife in public place. He was refused to bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today.

Inquiries continue and further arrests are anticipated.
