Oasis Aquatic and Leisure Centre reopens on June 15

Oasis Aquatic and Leisure Centre, corner of Church and Drummond streets, South Windsor, will reopen on Monday, June 15. It will be open weekdays 6am to 9pm and weekends 8am to 6pm with bookings essential.

Following the NSW Government's easing of restrictions, the gym will open and group fitness classes will kick off on June 15, with important new changes in place to help members and staff to stay safe while staying fit.

The indoor pool, spa, sauna and steam room are expected to open shortly following renovations. The Crèche will remain closed but is expected to reopen soon.

"We are opening, with the support of Hawkesbury City Council, in what are still uncertain times and we want to reassure our patrons that these facilities will be following all State and Federal health advice with extensive physical distancing and hygiene measures in place," said Y NSW CEO Susannah Le Bron.

"Oasis Aquatic and Leisure Centre is a place for everyone to enjoy and stay fit but, more than that, it's an important place for community connection.

"We are very proud of our staff for their commitment to keeping this great community asset maintained throughout closure, which has allowed us to open as soon as possible for the community after such challenging times."

The Y has installed a range of COVID Safe updates for the safety of members and staff, including perspex screens, physical distancing floor markings, more hand sanitiser stations, as well as increased cleaning and hygiene signage. All staff are receiving additional COVID Safe training and access to the centre will be limited. As per NSW Government guidelines, the number of people in the facility must not exceed more than one person per four square metres (including staff) and the following restrictions will apply:

  • Gym floor - maximum 50 patrons
  • Group fitness - maximum 20 per class
  • When the indoor pool reopens (currently being renovated) there will be maximum of 24 people
  • Spa/steam/sauna currently remains closed
  • Restricted access to change rooms - patrons encouraged to shower at home.

Due to these ongoing restrictions, memberships will remain on pause and a casual online booking system has been launched for customers, which can be accessed at
