An off-duty police officer has been charged with high-range drink driving after undergoing a random breath test in the state's west early this morning.
About 4am today (Sunday 2 November 2025), police stopped a vehicle on Gwydir Street, Moree, for the purposes of a random breath test.
The 39-year-old female driver – an off-duty sergeant attached to a command in the western region – was breath tested and allegedly returned a positive result.
She was arrested and taken to Moree Police Station where she underwent a secondary breath analysis and returned an alleged reading of 0.152.
The woman was charged with drive with high range PCA, and her licence was suspended.
She is set to appear before Moree Local Court on Monday 15 December 2025.
The officer is currently not in the workplace, and her employment status is under review.
