Officer charged - Central Metropolitan Region 14 April

A police officer has been charged over the alleged illegal access of the NSW Police computer system.

An investigation commenced in November 2022, following reports a probationary constable – attached to a command in the Central Metropolitan Region - had illegally accessed restricted data while undertaking her duties.

Following inquiries, the 22-year-old woman was issued a court attendance notice today (Friday 14 April 2023), for access restricted data held in computer.

The officer – who has been suspended with pay since November 2022 – is due to appear before Waverley Local Court on Tuesday 16 May 2023.

Her employment status is currently under review.
