Officer charged - Central Metropolitan Region

A police officer will face court in June following an investigation into an alleged neglect of duty.

In November 2018, an investigation was launched by Central Metropolitan Region's Professional Standards into the alleged mishandling of a report of telecommunications offences.

Following extensive inquiries, a Future Court Attendance Notice was served on the leading senior constable's legal representative today (Wednesday 24 April 2019).

The 31-year-old male officer was charged with four counts of neglect of duty and is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 6 June 2019.

He remains suspended from duty with pay.
