A police officer has been charged after allegedly hitting a pedestrian in the state's west earlier this year.
In July 2025, police commenced an investigation following reports an officer had allegedly hit a pedestrian while driving a fully-marked police vehicle.
Officers were told the pedestrian – a 55-year-old woman – was hit after a police vehicle reversed into her while in a carpark in Dubbo, on Friday 25 July 2025, before driving from the scene.
Following inquiries, police charged a 39-year-old male senior constable with not reverse vehicle safely and not give particulars to other driver.
The officer – who is attached to a specialist command – was issued a court attendance notice on Wednesday (17 December 2025), to appear before Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday 28 January 2026.
