A police officer has been charged after an off duty incident in Sydney last year, NSW Police say.
About 10.40pm on Sunday 4 December 2016, the officer was allegedly involved in an altercation with a man on George Street, Sydney.
As a result the other man received a number of injuries.
Following an investigation, yesterday, the male officer was served with a court attendance notice for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.
The officer, who is a senior constable attached to a Local Area Command in the Western Region, is expected to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 23 August 2017.
