A police officer will appear in court today charged over alleged misconduct and possession of child abuse and bestiality material.
In March 2025, officers attached to the Professional Standards Command established Strike Force Blumont to investigate reports of unauthorised access of the police computer system.
In May, strike force investigators seized the electronic devices of a senior constable - attached to a command in the Northern region - which have since been forensically examined.
Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators arrested the 38-year-old at Hornsby Police Station just after 9am today (Tuesday 15 July 2025).
He was charged with holder of public office misconduct himself in that office, two counts of possess child abuse material, person possesses bestiality material, three counts of access/ modify restricted data held in computer.
The officer has been refused bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court today.
He is suspended with pay and an urgent review of his employment status is underway.
