An off-duty police officer has been charged following alleged offensive conduct in Sydney's south earlier this year.
Officers attached to a Police Transport Command commenced an investigation into a man's alleged behaviour, on Saturday 21 June 2025, at Sutherland Railway Station.
During the investigation police identified that the man was an off-duty police officer.
Following inquiries, a 51-year-old man – a chief inspector attached to South West Metropolitan Region – was charged with behave in offensive manner in/near public place/school.
He was issued a court attendance notice to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 18 December 2025.
The officer is currently not in the workplace and his employment status is under review.
