An officer has been charged following an investigation into the alleged access of restricted data.
In February this year, officers from the Professional Standards Command commenced an investigation following reports an officer had accessed restricted data on two occasions in October and November 2020.
Following inquiries, a 33-year-old male senior constable was yesterday (Tuesday 27 April 2021), issued a Court Attendance Notice for cause unauthorised access to restricted data held in a computer system contrary to Section 308H Crimes Act (NSW) 1900.
He is due to appear before Downing Centre Local court on Thursday 10 June 2021
