Officer charged - Southern Region 26 April

An officer has been charged following an investigation into allegations of accessing restricted data and neglect of duty.

Earlier this month, officers from the Professional Standards Command commenced an investigation following reports an officer - attached to Southern Region - failed to follow standard procedures during an investigation between October 2020 and January 2021.

Following inquiries, a male senior constable was today (Monday 26 April 2021), issued a Court Attendance Notice for access restricted data (x4) and neglect of duty (x2).

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 3 June 2021.

The officer is now suspended from duty with pay.
