Officer charged - Specialist Command 30 July

A police officer has been charged after allegedly accessing restricted information.

In April this year, officers from the Professional Standards Command commenced an investigation following a report of harassing text messages allegedly sent by a serving member.

Following inquiries, a 52-year-old female senior constable – who is attached to a specialist command – was issued a Court Attendance Notice for five counts of access/modify restricted data held in computer and charged with use carriage service to menace/harass/offend.

She is due to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 9 September 2021.

Her employment status is under review.
