Officers suspended

Two corrective services officers were suspended from duty this week as a result of an ongoing ethical standards investigations.

One officer was suspended due to allegations relating to an inappropriate relationship with a prisoner, inappropriate access of official information and failure to declare a conflict of interest.

The second was suspended due to inappropriate access of official information and failing to disclose a conflict of interest.

Our officers play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the community by managing some of the most challenging people in society in highly dynamic situations.

To do this effectively and humanely, it is important that their behaviour is ethical, appropriate and proportionate to the circumstances.
