One Dead, Three Hurt in Crash Near Coffs Harbour

A woman has died and three people have been injured when a car left the road and struck a power pole 10km north-west of Coffs Harbour overnight.

Emergency services were called to Coramba Road at Karangi about 10.45pm (Sunday 17 May 2026), and found two occupants trapped.

A female passenger died at the scene, while the remaining occupants were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The three survivors have been taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus; the second woman has suffered leg and pelvic injuries, while the male driver is currently being medically assessed and undergoing mandatory testing. A second man is also being treated at the same hospital for unknown injuries.

All are believed to be aged in their early 20s.

Officers attached to Coffs Clarence Police District have established a crime scene with specialists from the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) enroute from Port Macquarie.

Coramba Road is expected to be closed till 7am while that examination is conducted.
