One dead, two seriously injured following multi-vehicle crash in Sutherland

Police are investigating after one man died and two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Sydney’s south, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to Sir Bertram Stevens Drive, in the Royal National Park, about 11km from Sutherland, about 12.30pm today (Sunday 24 June 2018), following reports two cars and three motorcycles collided.

One male motorcycle rider, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but died at the scene.

Two other riders, were also treated by paramedics and were taken to St George Hospital. One man is in a critical condition and another man is in a serious condition.

Both drivers, a man and a woman, were not injured and were taken to Sutherland Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command, with assistance from Crash Investigation Unit, established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Traffic diversions are in place due to road closures. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and check www.livetraffic.com.au for updates.
