One man dead, another critical after crash at Forbes

A man has died, and another is in a critical condition following a single-vehicle crash in the state's central west yesterday.

About 2.20pm (Wednesday 8 May 2019), police believe a Holden utility was travelling along Bedgerabong Road, Forbes, when the vehicle left the road and struck a tree.

The driver, a 24-year-old man, was taken to Orange Base Hospital, before being transferred to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The passenger, a 20-year-old man, died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

Officers from Central West Police District attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist officers from the Central West and Metropolitan Crash Investigation Units.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
