One youth dead, one injured at Royal Easter Show

A youth has died and a second has been injured after they were stabbed at the Royal Easter Show earlier tonight.

Emergency services were called to the carnival ride section about 8pm (Monday 11 April 2022), responding to reports of a fight.

Officers found two youths suffering stab wounds, one critically injured.

Police rendered first aid until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and treated them at the scene, before both were taken to Westmead Hospital.

Police have been told one youth has now died.

The second youth is undergoing treatment in hospital.

A male was arrested nearby a short time later and will be taken to Auburn Police Station.

Show visitors have been moved out of the area with a crime scene established.

Inquiries are underway and will involve detectives from Auburn Police Area Command.
