Open Art Gallery Artist EOI's closing soon: Bland Shire

Expressions of interest to be part of the inaugural Bland Shire Open Art Gallery close on Thursday 4 March.

Council is transforming its upstairs foyer into an open art gallery for local and regional artists to showcase their work seven days a week.

Artists are invited to submit artworks no smaller than A4 size and no larger than 600mm (height) by 1000mm and either framed or on stretch canvas ready for hanging. Expression of interest forms and more information is available by phoning 6972 2266 or calling in to Council's Shire Street offices.

The selected artworks will be hung on Monday 15 March with artists welcome to be present with the official opening to take place on Tuesday 16 March prior to the monthly Council meeting.

In a further effort to assist the local arts community, exhibited items can be listed for sale through the exhibition at a price set by the artist and released to the buyer at the conclusion of each exhibition or by special request. Further exhibitions will be conducted later in the year.

The open art gallery will provide public access seven days a week during the normal operating hours of the Bland Shire Visitor Information Centre and accessed via the staircase in the Council foyer during the week or via the lift on weekends.
