Operation Bartel nabs five for drug trafficking

Southern Metro Divisional Response Unit detectives made a series of arrests across Melbourne’s south east yesterday (1 Feb), Victoria Police say.

The DRU, assisted by Frankston, Greater Dandenong and Casey Crime Investigation Units, executed six search warrants in Seaford, Hampton Park, Cranbourne East, Cranbourne West and Sky as part of Operation Bartel.

Operation Bartel was targeting a commercial drug trafficking syndicate operating in the area.

During the search police located a large quantity of pills, powders and cannabis.

A number of other items including cash, electrical goods and weapons were also seized.

Police arrested and charged the following people with trafficking a commercial quantity of Ecstasy:

They were all remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ today.

A 22-year-old female from Skye has been charged with trafficking Ecstasy.

Charged and bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 6 April.

A 20-year-old male from Cranbourne West was arrested regarding weapons offences and cautioned by police.

A 22-year-old male from Seaford was arrested regarding drug offences and also cautioned by police.
