Operation Crusty leaves lasting impression in the Yarra Ranges

The Yarra Ranges Highway Patrol has concluded Operation Crusty which was run throughout the Yarra Ranges from 6 July to 1 August, Victoria Police say.

Targeting unlicensed and drug impaired drivers; the operation detected 137 individuals committing 179 offences including:

15 counts of driving under the influence of drugs

28 unlicensed / suspended drivers

73 speeding motorists

27 unregistered motor vehicles

7 vehicles unsafe or defected

Police also impounded six vehicles and breath tested 627 motorists.

Although this operation has finished, members of the Yarra Ranges Highway Patrol will continue to target drug affected and unlicensed drivers to keep the roads safe.
