Operation Soteria: Charges in Break-Ins, Car Theft

A man will face court today charged following an investigation into multiple break-ins and car theft throughout Western and Southern Region.

Officers attached to Operation Soteria, with the assistance from Western and Sothern Region officers commenced investigations into a number of stealing, frauds, aggravated break and enters, a vehicle fire, and a stolen car in Lake Cargelligo, West Wyalong, Griffith, Cobar and Leeton areas.

About 10.15am yesterday (Thursday 5 June 2025), police attended a home on Cunningham Street, Condobolin, and arrested an 18-year-old man.

A short time later, police executed a search warrant at a home on Lorne Street, Lake Cargelligo, and seized a wallet.

The man was taken to Condobolin Police Station and charged with,

  • dishonestly obtain property by deception
  • be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner (five counts)
  • aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-people there (seven counts)
  • steal motor vehicle
  • destroy or damage property
  • larceny value
  • Enter dwelling with intent (steal)
  • contravene prohibition/restriction in apprehended violence order (Domestic), and
  • breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear at Parkes Local Court today (Friday 6 June 2025).
