Operation Streetsweeper, Petrie

Police have arrested 14 people on 19 warrants resulting in 17 fresh charges, under Operation Streetsweeper, focused on improving community safety and bringing those who break the law to account in the Moreton district.

On October 15, police increased their presence in the Petrie area as part of ongoing investigations into a number of criminal matters.

A 51-year-old Strathpine woman was arrested, after ongoing investigations into reports the woman allegedly stole money from a business she was employed by between 2022 to 2023.

It is alleged the woman transferred a total of $23,056.50 into her personal bank account between September 2022 and February 2023.

She has been charged with 23 counts of fraud and is due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on 18 November.

Police arrested a 33-year-old Kallangur man in Kallangur on 15 October, who police had been trying to locate since April.

Upon his arrest, the man was charged with several new offences including one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, possess utensils or pipes etc for use, dangerous operation of a vehicle and evasion offences.

He is due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on 29 October.

Police arrested a 29-year-old Caboolture woman in Kallangur on 15 October after investigations into personal property that was allegedly stolen from inside a car parked at a Rothwell address on 27 August.

The woman has been charged with four counts of fraud and one count each of enter premises and commit indictable offence and receiving tainted property.

She is due to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on 5 November.

Petrie Police Station Officer in Charge Senior Sergeant Dale Morrow said this operation is focused on holding people to account.

"This is a clear demonstration of our commitment to bring those to justice who commit crimes and cause harm to our community no matter how long time has passed," Senior Sergeant Morrow said.

"We will use a range of investigative strategies and fully investigate all offences until we can arrest, charge and put those responsible before the courts."
