Melbourne born-and-raised motorsports champion, Oscar Piastri, will be immortalised at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit with a Grandstand bearing his name.
Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos said the grandstand opposite the team garages and pit lane would be called the Piastri Grandstand from the 2026 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix onwards.
It comes as new independent data confirmed this year's event was the biggest and best yet, with a record high estimated attendance of 465,498 - more than 13,000 higher than the previous year.
The 2025 race pumped more than $320 million into the economy - almost 15 per cent more than the previous year ─ and supported more than 1600 full-time jobs.
American Express pre-sale tickets for the 2026 Grand Prix go on sale on 3 September. A general public ticket release will follow on 10 September. Single-day general admission Park Passes will start at $45 for adults.
The Piastri Grandstand will add more local flavour to the event, which is one of the highest attended races on the Formula 1 calendar.
In just his third season of Formula 1, Piastri has already become one of the most decorated Australian motorsports athletes of all time, already matching or surpassing the number of career wins by some of his fellow Australian drivers.
The McLaren driver currently sits at the top of the 2025 driver's standings, with 14 out of 24 races complete.
The Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix is secured in Melbourne until 2037 and is a cornerstone of Victoria's blockbuster major events calendar, that delivers more than $3.3 billion in annual economic value to the state.
Victoria is the only place on the planet which also has a Grand Slam, NFL in season games, NBA exhibition games, the Boxing Day Test and the AFL Grand Final, the race that stops the nation, gigs across the state and world-class major events all year round.

As stated by Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO Travis Auld
