AS an early Christmas gift to nature lovers, Reflections Holidays - the biggest adventure camping group in New South Wales – has invested $3.7M in a suite of new accommodation, just in time for the festive break.
Reflections, a Crown Land manager that manages 40 holiday parks, camping grounds and boutique accommodation in New South Wales and reinvests profit back into its parks, installed a range of new accommodation in some of its most popular coastal destinations.
The new accommodation available for summer bookings is: four glamping tents at Hawks Nest, where the recently installed heated pool is a drawcard for families, and four standard cabins in Scotts Head, ready for bookings. Coming online in mid-December are five tiny homes in Lennox Head, two tiny homes in Byron Bay and one tiny home accommodating four people at Scotts Head.
Reflections CEO Nick Baker said that camping bookings were solid this summer however there was still limited availability in some coastal parks, and if people were prepared to explore new territory, Reflections' country parks had more availability.
"Camping at Christmas is a ritual for many of our customers who book the same site or cabin each year, and this year is no different, but the good news is that, with a bit of persistence,
you can still find some availability in our coastal parks and beyond," Mr Baker said.
"If you're willing to travel just a little bit further, our country parks are located in some of the most picturesque areas in the State, including Wilderluxe at Lake Keepit and Wee Jasper, Tumut and Burrinjuck Waters, which are all connected to the Hume and Hovell Track."
Reflections is a Category 1 Crown Land manager which manages its large portfolio of parks and also cares for 47 community reserves in NSW. It is the only holiday park group in the nation that is a certified social enterprise, and it reinvests profits into its parks and reserves.
Minister for Lands and Property and Jobs and Tourism Steve Kamper said the investment in new accommodation would support more holiday stays while benefiting regional tourism and jobs.
"Crown land holiday parks are catalysts for their local economies, and investing in new accommodation means more families can enjoy affordable nature-based getaways while supporting local tourism jobs and businesses," Mr Kamper said.
"The Christmas–New Year period is peak holiday season in NSW so I encourage travellers to explore our Crown land holiday parks for a unique, affordable experience that not only delivers an unforgettable experience but benefits regional towns."
Mr Baker said Reflections' award-winning website was very user-friendly and guests could book easily for themselves and their dogs, with many Reflections parks having dog-friendly cabins and facilities such as bathing stations.
