Over 500,000 vaccination doses now delivered in SA

South Australians have now received more than 500,000 vaccination doses as the state continues to scale up its COVID-19 vaccination program.

Minister for Health and Wellbeing Stephen Wade said "it is fantastic to see so many South Australians rolling up their sleeves when it is their turn and I thank each and every one of them for playing their part in protecting the community".

"Vaccination is our doorway out of the pandemic, and the Marshall Liberal Government is doing everything we can to ensure the COVID-19 vaccine is readily accessible to all South Australians..

"Our $86 million investment in this week's State Budget will ensure that we can fast track the COVID-19 vaccination rollout, ensuring SA Health has the flexibility to continue to pivot where required to get this vital vaccine into the arms of South Australians.

"Significantly, 64 percent of South Australians aged over 60 have now received at least one dose of the vaccine, which represents excellent progress towards vaccinating our older population who we know are more susceptible to the virus.

"Earlier this week, the mass vaccination clinic at Wayville hit 50,000 doses administered and South Australia reached a new daily record with more than 13,000 people vaccinated on Monday.

"I want to congratulate our entire vaccination workforce, including SA Health and our GP networks, on achieving this major milestone and thank all staff for their hard work and commitment in delivering the State's largest ever peacetime operation."

You can check your eligibility and book in for a vaccination through the SA Health website.
