Over 60 in hospital in Central China After Suspected Poisoning

More than 60 people were hospitalized in central China after showing poisoning symptoms, local authorities report.

Villagers in Hekou Town, in Xiangtan Country (Hunan Province), started developing symptoms of vomiting and dizziness after eating food from a local supermarket on Thursday.

The country government said on Friday, as cited by the Shanghai Daily, that all of the affected villagers had been sent to the hospital and were in stable condition.

The county authorities are investigating the incident. The supermarket where the villagers purchased stewed dishes that could have caused the poisoning has been closed, according to Shanghai Daily.
