Police nabbed a drink driver over six times the limit in Drouin last night.
Officers were initially called to reports of an Audi SUV colliding with a Hyundai i20 on Longwarry Road about 6pm.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 37-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Audi fled the scene in the vehicle, which by then had sustained significant damage to the front.
The Audi was located in the front yard of a property on Tynong Road in Tynong a short time later.
Officers quickly approached the driver as he exited the vehicle.
The 39-year-old man undertook a preliminary breath test, which returned a positive result.
An evidentiary breath text was then performed, which returned an alleged reading of .316.
The man from Drouin had his licence immediately suspended and is expected to be charged on summons with reckless conduct cause serious injury and other traffic offences.
