Overnight vandalism of Christies Beach businesses, South Australia

Two teenagers were arrested as part of an investigation into property damage to a number of businesses at Christies Beach overnight.

It will be alleged between 2 and 3am on Tuesday 29 September, more than a dozen businesses along Beach Road and The Esplanade, Christies Beach had front windows smashed.

Also, two cars parked nearby were interfered with and graffiti was marked in the area.

Two teenagers were found in the vicinity by police patrols.

A 16-year-old boy from Seacombe Gardens was arrested and charged with property damage and graffiti. He was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Youth Court on 5 November.

A 13-year-old boy from Elizabeth Downs was also arrested and charged with breach of bail. He will also face court on 5 November.

Inquiries are continuing to identify another person believed to be involved in the overnight crime series.

Crime scene investigators attended and examined each scene this morning.

Police patrols will pay ongoing attention to business security and antisocial behaviour in the area.
