A man's licence has been suspended and a $3,054 fine issued after he was allegedly detected driving at more than 150km/h on the M1 near Mooney Mooney yesterday.
About 3.40pm yesterday (Monday 16 June 2026), a highway patrol officer was driving south on the M1 Motorway near Mooney Mooney, when they were undertaken by another vehicle.
A speed check of that vehicle allegedly revealed it was traveling at 151km/h.
Police stopped the Subaru WRX a short time later and spoke to the driver who produced a P2 provisional licence.
The driver – a 22-year-old man – was issued an infringement notice for P2 driver exceed speed limit - over 45 km/h.
The infringement carries a penalty of $3,054 and seven demerit points.
His driver's licence was also suspended for a period of six months.
