P plate driver caught speeding in Mansfield

An 18-year-old, who had only held his licence for three days, has been caught speeding in Mansfield yesterday afternoon, Victoria Police say.

Mansfield Highway Patrol members detected the Holden Commodore ute travelling at 139km/h in a 100km/h zone on the Maroondah Highway about 2pm.

Police intercepted the vehicle and discovered the Rosebud driver turned 18 on the day he received his licence, three days before he was nabbed.

The teenager had not even received his driver’s licence card.

His licence will now be suspended for six months.
