P-plate drivers charged after street racing 75km/h over limit - Oran Park

Two men – both provisional drivers – will face court next month after allegedly street racing in Sydney's south-west yesterday.

About 3.15am (Sunday 21 February 2021), officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol South West were conducting patrols on Northern Road, Oran Park, when they observed two Holden utilities travelling north alongside each other.

Police detected both vehicles were allegedly travelling at 156km/h in an 80km/h zone.

Officers stopped the utilities and spoke to the drivers, both aged 18, before issuing each with Court Attendance Notices (CAN) for street racing, and exceed speed limit by more than 45km/h.

Their licences have been suspended.

The men are due to appear at Picton Local Court on Tuesday 23 March 2021.
