P-plater charged, plates confiscated for speeding 132km/h in 70km/h zone in Ingleburn

A P1 provisional driver had his number plates confiscated and will have to face court after he was caught and charged for allegedly speeding by more than 60km/h over the limit in Ingleburn yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 4.55pm yesterday, officers from the Traffic & Highway Patrol Command were conducting speed enforcement on Williamson Road, when they detected a Holden Commodore allegedly speeding at 132km/h in a 70km/h zone.

Officers stopped the car and spoke to the driver, a 22-year-old man, who was the holder of a P1 provisional licence.

Also in the car, were three passengers, two aged 18 and one aged 20.

Following investigations, officers removed the number plates from the car and confiscated them as well as suspending the driver's licence on the spot.

The driver was charged with drive at speed dangerous to the public, and exceed speed by more than 45km/h.

He is due to face Campbelltown Local Court on Tuesday 26 September 2017.
