P-plater detected travelling 90km/h over speed limit - Moorebank

A teenager has been charged after allegedly being caught by police driving 90km/h over the speed limit in Sydney's south-west last night.

About 11pm (Wednesday 1 April 2020), officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attempted to stop a Honda Accord allegedly detected travelling at 110km/h in a 60km/h zone, on Newbridge Road, Moorebank.

Officers will allege that the vehicle reached speeds of up to 150km/h and failed to stop for police.

The 17-year-old male driver pulled over a short time later and produced a provisional licence.

The teenager from Miller was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for class A motor vehicle exceed speed limit over 45km/h, not obey direction of police and, negligent driving, not cause grievous bodily harm.

His licence was suspended, and he is due to appear before a Children's Court on Wednesday 1 July 2020.
