Pair arrested following crime series, SA

Detectives and patrols from both Eastern Adelaide and Sturt Local Service Areas have arrested a man and a woman as part of Operation Subtract, according to SA Police.

At about 3.15pm on Friday 31 March, patrols were called to an address at St Peters regarding a break-in.

Witnesses reported seeing a man leaving the property carrying items and then leave in a stolen Hyundai Elantra.

This car had been involved in a recent crime series, including an attempted break-in at Lower Mitcham on Sunday 16 March and theft from a motor vehicle at Findon on Thursday 30 March.

The stolen Hyundai was spotted by patrols a short time later at a North Plympton address where the man and woman were arrested.

A search of the house uncovered property stolen from the St Peters break-in along with evidence linking the pair to the theft at Findon.

A 43-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with two counts of aggravated serious criminal trespass, two counts of theft, illegal interference of a motor vehicle and theft of a motor vehicle.

A 31-year-old woman from North Plympton was charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, two counts of theft and illegal use of a motor vehicle.

Both were refused bail and will appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday 3 April.

Anyone who may have recently seen the stolen Hyundai or have any information regarding the crime series, are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
