Pair arrested in the city after running from police, SA

A man and a teenager have been arrested in the CBD this morning after police found them in possession of weapons, according to SA Police.

Just after 12.30am, Thursday 22 March, police were called to King William Street near Hindley Street after a member of the public claimed to have seen a man showing a second male what appeared to be a firearm.

When police arrived the pair ran off along North Terrace toward Kintore Avenue. Patrols set up cordons in the area before the pair were quickly located in parklands near Sir Edwin Smith Avenue.

Police searched the duo and allegedly located an imitation firearm on one of the men, and a homemade taser and a knife on the second male.

They were both arrested, a 32-year-old man of no fixed place was charged with possess imitation firearm and breach of bail, a 17-year-old Ridgehaven boy charged with carry offensive weapon, possess dangerous article.

The 32-year-old was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today, the teen was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on 19 April.
