Pair charged after stolen property located in Glenroy

Moreland Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two men following the execution of a search warrant in Glenroy today, Victoria Police say.

A resident on Kiama Street located alleged stolen property and reported it to police on Friday 11 November.

Police attended and inspected a crawl space under a house on Kiama Street where they located two bags of property.

Property inside the bag includes:

•two Paralympic gold medals

•personal identification documents

•stolen number plates

•firearm

•ammunition

•methylamphetamine

•other prohibited weapons

Detectives returned to a different property on Kiama Street yesterday and executed a search warrant where they seized the following items:

•an alleged stolen car

•an alleged stolen trailer

•methylamphetamine

•ammunition

Four men were arrested at the property and were taken back to a police station for interview.

A 40-year-old Craigieburn man and 29-year-old Coburg man have been charged with handling stolen goods, possess drugs, weapons and ammunition and firearm-related offences.

The pair have been bailed to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on 17 July 2017.

A 26-year-old St Albans man and 30-year-old Tullamarine man have been released pending further enquiries.
