Pair charged with drug related offences, Charters Towers

Detectives from Charters Towers Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man and woman with multiple drug related offences as part of an ongoing operation, Queensland Police say.

The 54-year-old man and 55-year-old woman were arrested and charged following the execution of search warrants by detectives, uniformed police and Major and Organised Crime Squad (Rural) at a Racecourse Road address in Richmond Hill and Picnic Creek Road Broughton yesterday.

During the search at one of the properties it will be alleged police located 70 cannabis plants ranging in size growing hydroponically and a small amount of dried cannabis.

Both have been charged with producing dangerous drugs, possess dangerous drugs, possess anything used in the commission of a crime, possess utensil.

The man and woman are expected to appear in the Charters Towers Magistrates Court on March 5.
