Parent-Baby Mother Goose Program

Introducing the pleasure of rhymes, songs and stories to adults and babies.

Parent-Baby Mother Goose is an evidence-based program that strengthens attachment and interaction between parents or carers and their young children by encouraging connection through rhythm, sound, interactive play and meaning of language.

Standing and action songs help develop large motor skills; the hand actions in rhymes and songs assist the development of both vision and small motor skills development and the repetitive nature of songs help develop speech and language.

Emma, mother of a seven-month-old baby girl, loved the program so much after attending in 2022, they are returning in 2023.

"It was something really engaging and fun to do and share together," said Emma.

"I started using the songs at home and learned more about her development. For me, the added benefit was the connection and community formed with other parents from my area," said Emma.

The program is suitable for babies from 6 weeks to 12 months. For date and location details, please contact our MCH team on 8290 3336 or visit Maternal and Child Health website.
