Parking Fee Reduction Extended In Parramatta CBD

Commuters and visitors will continue to enjoy affordable all-day parking in Parramatta after Council extended its reduced fee trial for two multistorey car parks in the heart of the CBD.

Council recently extended the trial until 30 September 2025, meaning motorists can park for up to 18 hours at Parramatta Station and Justice Street car parks for just $14 - a move aimed to ease the cost-of-living pressures and encourage greater access to the city's vibrant offerings.

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said the extension reflects Council's commitment to making Parramatta more accessible and welcoming.

"We know families and workers are feeling the pinch, and this initiative helps make a day out in Parramatta more affordable," Cr Zaiter said.

"Whether you're enjoying a meal, strolling along the river, or catching a show at Riverside Theatres, we want people to take their time and enjoy everything our city has to offer-without worrying about parking costs."

The initial trial saw a noticeable increase in car park usage, demonstrating strong community support and demand. Together, the two car parks offer more than 1,500 spaces, all within walking distance of Parramatta Square, local shops, and restaurants.

Council will continue to monitor usage and community feedback throughout the extended trial period to ensure the initiative delivers lasting value.

The discounted rate and parking utilisation rates will continue to be monitored by Council.
