Parking Permits Go Paperless

Digital parking permits have arrived in Stonnington.

This means no more paper permits stuck to your windscreen and no more risk of lost or stolen permits.

Parking permits are now linked online to your vehicle's number plate and your residential address.

To help you conveniently apply for, renew and manage your parking permits, we've launched a new online ePermit platform so you can manage your permits directly. You can access this platform via our website or the MyStonnington app.

You'll only need to apply for a digital parking permit when your current permits expire or if you need a new permit.

The new system offers a quick and easy way to allocate permits for visitors to your property, or swap permits for new visitors. You no longer need to give your visitors a physical permit to display; instead, just go online to temporarily allocate visitor parking permits to any vehicle at any time.

Our online platform means you can make changes in real-time, with instant permit coverage.

We have introduced new fees as part of our changeover to digital parking permits.

The new fee structure creates a fairer user-pays model for residents, so that those who use on-street parking contribute more equitably to the costs associated with providing resident-priority parking areas.

We've adopted a similar model to many of our neighbouring Councils and at comparable fee levels.

To ensure the system remains equitable, we've also introduced discounted fees for eligible concession card holders. This amounts to a 50 per cent discount for all permits.

The new fees align with our objectives to promote sustainable transport by reducing car dependency and discouraging excessive vehicle ownership.
