Passenger dies in hospital after crash at Dubbo

A man has died in hospital following a two-vehicle crash in the state's west on the weekend.

Just before 10.15am on Saturday (2 September 2023), emergency services were called to the Newell Highway, Dubbo, after reports a 4WD towing a caravan and a Kia had collided.

Four people from the Kia were taken to Dubbo Base Hospital for treatment and, a passenger was later airlifted to Westmead Hospital for further treatment.

Officers from Orana Mid-Western have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police have since been notified the passenger from the Kia – a man believed to be in his 60s - died in hospital yesterday (Monday 4 September 2023).

A report will be prepared for the information of Coroner.
