PAUL KIRBY APPOINTED TO TERRITORY LABOR GOVERNMENT'S MINISTRY

Chief Minister Michael Gunner today announced Member for Port Darwin, Paul Kirby, has been appointed to the Territory Labor Governments Cabinet.

The appointment of Mr Kirby will allow the Government to continue its work to deliver on its priorities to create jobs, a safer community and invest in generational change for a brighter future.

Mr Gunner will announce the portfolio allocations later this week when the new Ministry is sworn in by the Administrator.

As noted by Mr Gunner:

Every member of my team is focused on improving the lives of Territorians, and we will move forward in a unified way to always put the interests of Territorians first.

Paul will be an exceptional addition to my Cabinet, having worked tirelessly as both Local Member and Assistant Minister over the past two years to promote and advocate for our CBD and fight for local business.

His background as a linesman for Power and Water means he knows what it is like on the ground doing important work for Territorians; additionally his strong advocacy for working Territorians has been proven through his ability to stand up for workers right across the NT.

As noted by Paul Kirby:

I will continue working with the Gunner Labor Government to keep putting the focus on Territorians first and foremost through a strong Government agenda to create local jobs and invest in generational change.

Ive been in the Territory for over 20 years, Ive brought my family up in Darwin and Im fortunate enough to have another opportunity now with a young family. Ive strived to improve the Territory through everything Ive done, and look forward to working as hard as I can for Territorians in my new role.
