Pedal Into Next Month With Biketober

Biketober is returning for 2025; a national bike riding challenge running throughout the entirety of October.

From newbies or daily commuters to expert mountain bikers, Biketober encourages everyone to trade your regular exercise or travel for cycling. All you need is a bike and a can-do attitude!

Operated by Love to Ride, this free challenge brings many benefits to participants and our local community, including positive impacts to mental and physical health, and fewer emissions generated.

Council's Recreation Coordinator Joshua Walsh said Biketober is a great opportunity for locals to head outside and enjoy Wagga Wagga's shared pathways and cycling tracks.

"This October is the time to grab your helmet and bike out of the shed and head outside," Mr Walsh said.

"Our city is home to the Active Travel Plan (ATP), a large network of dedicated shared paths which provide community members with a safe, alternative transport option.

"It's also a great track to enjoy the outdoors! When it's complete, it will connect all the suburbs of Wagga Wagga."

Participants can sign up and log rides via the Love to Ride app or website.

"Don't miss your chance to get involved in Biketober and use the wonderful resources we have here in our area. It's a sure way to save money, get exercise, and see the wonderful sights our city has to offer."
