Pedestrian critical after hit by car at Orange

A woman is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car in the state's Central West today.

Shortly after 12pm (Tuesday 19 May 2020), emergency services were called to a carpark at the rear of Orange Health Service on Forest Road, Orange, following reports a woman had been struck by a vehicle on a pedestrian footpath.

Officers from Central West Police District attended along with NSW Fire & Rescue and NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The 51-year-old woman was trapped under a Ford Territory for a short time, before being released by NSW Fire & Rescue and taken to Orange Health Service in a critical condition.

The driver of the Ford, a 60-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers from Bathurst Crash Investigation Unit have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
