Pedestrian Critically Injured in Schofields Car Crash

A man has been seriously injured after being hit by a car while crossing a road in Sydney's north-west this morning.

Emergency services were called to Schofields Road at Schofields shortly before 7.15am (Wednesday 14 June 2023), and found a man – believed to be aged in his 40s – suffering head and internal injuries.

A medical team was brought to the scene by a Toll helicopter, which landed at a nearby sports complex.

They treated the man at the scene before he was transported to Westmead Hospital by road.

The driver of the car, a woman aged 29, has been arrested for the purpose of mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established by officers attached to Riverstone Police Area Command with one lane westbound on Schofields Road blocked at Junction Road.

Police have been told the man, from Schofields, was crossing at the lights when the incident happened.

Crash Unit Investigators will be conducting inquiries and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam vision, to contact them via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
