Pedestrian dies after crash - Bateau Bay

A woman has died after she was hit by a bus on the Central Coast today.

About 9.30am (Friday 19 August 2022), emergency services were called to Bay Village Road, Bateau Bay, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a bus travelling west.

The woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but she could not be revived and died at the scene.

She is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged 46.

The driver of the bus – a 64-year-old man – and his passengers were uninjured. He was subjected to a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a negative result.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
