A woman has died after being hit by a car in state's south this evening.
About 6.30pm today (Monday 3 August 2026), emergency services responded to reports of a crash on Dick Road, Lavington, near Jacinta Court.
Officers attached to Murray River Police District attended and were told a car had struck a pedestrian.
The pedestrian – an 80-year-old woman – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, she died at the scene.
The driver of the car - a 41-year-old man – was uninjured and has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene has been established and will be examined by officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.
